Guildford Institute provides a complete package of Bridge courses for all levels. All courses are based upon the Standard English ACOL bidding system and the training follows the methods of the English Bridge Union.
Our Beginners Bridge course is for complete beginners and lasts for one year. It introduces the ACOL bidding system and covers the basics of good card play.
In the second year, our Intermediate Bridge course follows on from all that has been learnt in the first year, and completes the ACOL system. This course is also suitable for those with about one year's experience with bridge.
Our third year Advanced Bridge course, covers more advanced techniques of both bidding and play, and introduces Duplicate play, with a view to progression to become a club player.
Finally, our Bridge Club welcomes new members. Alternatively, you will be introduced to other local clubs who welcome new members, including those attending clubs for the first time.

No prior knowledge of card play is required, although you will find it easier to learn if you already know how to play whist or solo. All learning is through playing cards and you will be playing simple hands of bridge even at the first lesson. These will be friendly classes where you will meet others while learning to play bridge. |
