If you are interested in writing, why not join this course? The aim is to develop and channel writing ability, whether you are writing for publication or as a hobby. All forms are included - novels, short stories, poetry, memoirs and features. We will discuss many aspects of the craft of writing. There will be projects, publication guidelines and discussion of members' work in a constructive and friendly setting. Beginners are welcome.

So You Want to Write a Novel?

Have you thought of writing a novel or are you already working on one? It can be daunting. We will consider aspects of novel-writing including deciding on the starting point, to plan or not to plan, characterisation, point of view, creating scenes and atmosphere and writing dialogue. We will look at some published examples, have projects, and publication guidelines. You are invited to bring work in progress for discussion in a constructive and friendly setting. Beginners are welcome.

Students need to bring paper and pen or pencil and also, if possible, work in progress for reading and discussion.
