For those interested in writing - short stories, poems, novels, plays, memoirs or who are looking for ideas. We will discuss many aspects, such as getting started, writing dialogue, creating characters and modern poetry, have projects and reading and discussion of your work in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. For writers at all stages. Beginners welcome.

Creative Writing: Writing the Short Story		GI-08-041

What is a short story? We will consider the essential qualities, including character, conflict and resolution and the importance of point of view. We will look at examples by established writers. There will be publishing guidelines, practical projects and reading and discussion of your owrk in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. For writers at all stages. Beginners welcome. Students should bring paper and pen or pencil and, preferably, work to read out for discussion.
