Summer Term 2009

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing,
the birds are singing – and the lawn mower is broken.

James Dent

This term we are pleased to introduce several new tutors who will be teaching at the Institute. Philosopher and life coach Tim LeBon will teach us how philosophers can be of practical value in our lives, will look at what happiness is and discuss what we can do to become happier.

John Emerson, will help us to celebrate American Independence Day with his Literature session ‘The Black Experience in American Literature’.

We are also pleased to include two practical art classes in our programme. Claire Harrison will teach a short course on drawing skills and Tozzy Bridger a Printmaking workshop Day School. Helen White joins us to teach Creative Writing for all abilities on Thursday evenings.

We are pleased to have had such good take up of courses in the autumn and spring terms and are happy to be able to offer an even wider selection of topics for you to enjoy this summer. Once again, to assist with administration, we would ask you to enrol at least two weeks before your course begins.

Concessions are available to the over-60s, those on benefits and to Guildford Institute members.
