A Bicycling Pilgrim’s Progress: From Guildford to Santiago de Compostela (T242)
29 January 2020 @ 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm
Speaker: Paul Gillingham
Now retired, Paul Gillingham taught history in Canada, Tanzania and Hong Kong before becoming a broadcast journalist. Paul’s career highlights include interviewing, among others, the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu and the sons of Martin Luther King.
Recovering from a serious health problem, Paul decided to ride to Santiago as a form of rehabilitation. It was a 1600-mile solo ride through France, over the Pyrenees and across the plains and mountains of Northern Spain. The talk features the changing landscapes, reflections on some of the villages and great cities passed through and the sharing of stories with fellow pilgrims.
This event is free, however, in order to book a place you will still need to add the required space(s) to your basket and check out in the normal way.
