Go to all CoursesOverview
Late Victorian Landscape painters, including Millais, MacWhirter, Leader, Farquharson, and Graham, created large scale spectacular pictures for England’s new public art galleries and industrial patrons. Meanwhile the ‘British Impressionists’, influenced by modern French painting, developed a new art, usually small and rapidly painted from nature. We will study Whistler, Sargent, Sickert and Steer, amongst others, in this richly illustrated course.
