The Golden Age of British landscape art opens in the late 18th century, when new societies like the Royal Academy enabled artists to present innovative work to a growing art public. In these classes, we will study oil painters, including Gainsborough and Richard Wilson, and the rise of the unique British watercolour school, including Thomas Malton, Towne, Sandby, Rooker, J. R. Cozens and Girtin.
