Why did our ancestors migrate? We look at the ‘push and pull’ factors that took our ancestors all over the world. Our case studies will look at travel to and living conditions in places such as South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and America. We will examine prison hulks, treacherous land and sea journeys, fortunes won and lost. How were connections with the homeland maintained over time – who returned and who was forgotten about?
Suitable for all levels.
This workshop will be delivered face to face and online (via Zoom) simultaneously. Please ensure that you select the correct ticket type when making your booking.
Please note: Due to the easing of social distancing measures, this face to face course has a capacity of 15 attendees. This is set at 75% of full capacity to the ensure safety of our students and tutors. We will endeavour to increase this number to full capacity in due course.
