Overview

For genealogists, researching ancestors in cities presents different challenges from more rural environments. Using case studies, we examine the opportunities our ancestors expected from urban life and uncover the harsh realities. Did our ancestors benefit from a better education, higher wages and access to new technology? We learn how to tap into the vast array of documentary evidence that city life provides.
