First Outing by Jane Allison
1 June 2021 @ 9:30 am - 18 June 2021 @ 5:00 pm BST
Jane Allison is a portrait painter and has lived and worked in Guildford for many years.
During lockdown, when everyone’s life was reduced to their immediate surroundings, Jane concentrated on painting flowers from the garden and the landscapes within walking distance of her home. The beautiful countryside surrounding Guildford was a constant source of discovery and inspiration and her paintings in this exhibition reflect this.
Jane has completed numerous private commissions and her most recent portrait was of the Duchess of Cornwall in her capacity as Honorary Colonel of the 4th Wiltshire Rifles. Other notable sitters include Dr. John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York, Baroness Greenfield and Henry Allingham aged 113 and one of the last veterans of the First World War.
Jane has work in many private and public collections including the Queen’s collection at Windsor , the Royal College of Surgeons in both London and Edinburgh , the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons , The Royal Institute ,the Royal Society of Medicine, the University of Surrey and several regiments and public schools. She has also exhibited widely , including with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and in the BP Portrait Award as a prize winner.
