This course will provide an overview of what archaeology is and how archaeologists investigate past societies. During these classes, we will see an introduction to the history of the science from its antiquarian roots to more current approaches. We will also look at excavation methods and practices and other more scientific techniques which have helped substantially in uncovering additional details about both artefacts and sites.
