Speaker: Charlotte James

Leonard Cheshire was a highly-decorated RAF pilot during the Second World War and was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1944. After leaving the RAF, Cheshire pursued a number of charitable endeavours which eventually led to the formation of the Leonard Cheshire charity.

The charity’s mission is to support disabled individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Senior Volunteering and Community Coordinator for the south of England, Charlotte James, will discuss the charity’s history and current focus.
