Standing 363 feet tall and weighing more than 6 million lb – the Saturn V was an astonishing feat of engineering, dedicated to taking humans to the Moon. Just 15 flight versions were made. How did we progress from the first rocket experiments of Robert Goddard to this mighty machine in less than 50 years? How did this superb design work?
