The simple practice of mindfulness is known to bring a transformational change in our way of being with our self, others and the world. This short course encourages participants to bring an open, curious, enquiring attitude. Students will explore their lived experience of the mindfulness practices in the course within a respectful, friendly and non-judgmental group setting.

About the Speaker
Jyoti Nanda
Having received education in India, the UK and USA, Jyoti brings a rich cross-cultural perspective and a wide world view to her work. A teacher and practitioner of both Existential Therapy and meditation, Jyoti has authored several peer reviewed papers in academic journals and contributed to book chapters, bringing together insights from the traditions of Existential therapy and meditation. She has facilitated mindfulness workshops and courses in London and Guildford since 2006.Currently, Jyoti works in Guildford seeing individuals and couples in private practice.
Jyoti is a long-term practitioner of meditation in more than one tradition. She has undertaken teacher training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA. Her academic background includes Masters degrees in Child Development and Counselling Psychology and Advanced level training in Existential Psychotherapy and Existential Counselling Psychology. She has also taught and examined Doctoral level students in Existential Counselling Psychology at Regent’s University, London.
In her spare time, Jyoti loves travel, nature photography and walking. She relishes meditative solitude and chanting. She enjoys listening to Indian classical music, cooking simple nutritious vegetarian and vegan meals for her family and friends and enjoys savouring the simple joys of everyday living.
