Since the mid-18th century, British artists have been fascinated by the warmth and colour, the beauty and history of the Italian landscape and its traditional way of life. In this richly illustrated course, we will explore how the Italian Alps, Florence, Venice, Rome, Tivoli and Naples have inspired artists including Turner, Richard Wilson, Samuel Palmer, G.F. Watts and John Singer Sargent.
