Overview

Ever pondered the emotional impact of art or its evolving significance in the age of technology? On this two-day summer school, we will delve into these questions through the lenses of Aristotle, Kant, Walter Benjamin and Susan Sontag. Explore the cathartic power of art on Day One and unravel the complexities of reproducibility and sensory engagement on Day Two. Engage in thoughtful discussions, analyse artworks, and gain insights into the diverse philosophies shaping our understanding of the value of art.

This two-day course will include morning and afternoon refreshments, as well as a vegetarian lunch.

The structure of each day will be as follows:

Session 1: 10am -11am

Refreshment break: 11am -11.15am

Session 2: 11.15am -12.30pm

Lunch break: 12.30pm -1.30pm

Session 3: 1.30pm – 2.45pm

Refreshment break 2.45pm – 3pm

Session 4: 3pm until 4pm
