Considered the founder of modern Russian literature and dubbed ‘the Russian Shakespeare’, Alexander Pushkin’s life was as eventful as any of the scenarios in his books and poems. Dostoevsky called him a ‘prophet’ and ‘the embodiment of Russia’s national ideals’ and he continues to influence and captivate audiences to this day.
