Overview

If this play was based primarily on racial injustice, what was Shakespeare’s view, and what was his message to his audience? The lecture will look at how language, stagecraft and structure combine to foreground racial prejudice and how Shakespeare challenges his audience.

Please have a copy of the play for reference, specific scene references will be given in advance.

This course will take place online via zoom only.
