Local historian and writer David Rose’s illustrated talk (with plenty of rarely-seen images) will focus on aspects of the town’s working life from the late 19th century to the modern day. Tickets will include a glass of wine on arrival and should be booked in advance.
Topics covered will be light engineering, motor-vehicle making and servicing, commerce, brewing, volunteer work and more. See how certain industries and trades have come and gone,
others remaining throughout, with newer high-tech firms now on the increase – all revealing how Guildford has been shaped and changed.
