You may have seen Dean Dyson busking on Guildford High Street but now you can enjoy the chance to sit down and really listen to his music at The Guildford Institute.

Born in Hull, the son of an RAF Air Traffic Controller, Dean had a nomadic childhood, living all over Britain, Germany and as far away as Singapore, settling in London aged 18 where he won the National Folk Contest in 1973.

Dean’s lifetime has seen many gigs, including some at prestigious venues like the Bluebird in Nashville and London’s Barbican. This has been accompanied by various jobs in the music business, writing songs for other artists, here and abroad, and always singing!

These days Dean satisfies the same yearning on a daily basis every morning with his busking and in also discovering the wonder of the internet, his voice is being heard and appreciated, in the case of the recent viral videos, by millions of people across the globe.

Dean will perform a mix of covers and his own music which he describes as ‘heart and soul’.
