1972 saw the first satellite dedicated to imaging the land (ERTS-1/LANDSAT 1). This one-day course will examine the development of multispectral and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging satellites, and how they have revolutionised our understanding of the Earth’s oceans and landforms.
How do they work? What have we learned? Will we ever get a real-time ‘Google Earth’?
This course will take place online via zoom only.
