During the Georgian period, Christmas was a month-long celebration involving parties, balls and family gatherings.
However, religion was a deeply divided topic at this time. The rise of the Industrial Revolution and the decline of rural living meant the extended Christmas season began to disappear to allow employees to continue working throughout the festive period. Together we will look at some of the familiar and stranger customs associated with the Georgian Christmas experience.
