Overview

Speaker: Michael McKechnie

Founded in 1619, the Hospital of the Blessed Trinity (more commonly known as Abbot’s Hospital), was given to the people of Guildford by Archbishop George Abbot as a gift ‘out of my love to the place of my birth’.

After an army career spanning over twenty years, Michael McKechnie became Master of Abbot’s Hospital in 2015. Michael’s illustrated talk will outline how he ended up in the role, as well as discussing the Hospital’s fascinating history and founder.
