From the latter 18th century to the present day, travellers have enjoyed the beauty of the Lake District, often following the writers and artists who responded to the landscape before them. With William Gilpin and Wordsworth; Turner and Constable; Beatrix Potter and Arthur Ransome and many others, take an armchair journey to the Lakes and through their history.
