Steve Herra

Steve Herra served aboard the QE2 as a purser (later joining the Royal Naval Reserve). This captivating talk will delve into some of the many stories of P&O’s vast cruising history. Answering questions such as: Prior to the Suez Canal opening, how did passengers travel from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea? What did Florence Nightingale put her success down to? What was the origin of the modern-day barbeque? When the company’s flagship Canberra was on Falklands War Duty, what were the female crew members referred to as? What was Canberra affectionately called?
