Overview

Venus, the morning or evening star, has long fascinated humanity. In this session we shall explore how we have come to understand the nature of this planet. We will talk about our knowledge of it from the first telescopic observations to more recent radar imaging and space missions, such as Venera, Magellan and Venus Express. How did Venus become Earth’s ‘evil twin’? What are the implications of this for the Earth’s future?
