Make Your Own Way Visit
Explore the history of Dorking through a 90-minute walking tour following its development from settlement at the foot of the chalk downs to flourishing market town.
Take in the turnpike staging post, old foundry, the only known surviving house of a pilgrim father, and the coaching inn that features in Dickens’ Pickwick Papers.
Then discover the mysterious and hidden history beneath your feet in the South Street caves. A trained guide will give a 45-minute tour about the history, geology and legends of this underground world.
Finally enjoy a well-earned break at the Mullens Café (refreshments are extra cost) and have free time afterwards to visit Dorking Museum.
