Painshill was created between 1738 and 1773, by the Hon. Charles Hamilton. Inspired by Renaissance art and the Grand Tours he had undertaken, Hamilton went on to create a sequence of breathtaking and surprising vistas at Painshill. The landscapes form living works of art into which Hamilton placed follies for dramatic effect.
Our visit will begin with an introductory tour, upon which you will learn all about Painshill’s creator and the history behind the stunning 18th century landscape garden. Your experienced guide will also take you to the best view points and give you exclusive access into the sparkling Crystal Grotto. After the tour, you’ll have time for a leisurely lunch at Mr Hamilton’s Tea Room and the chance to enjoy exploring the grounds at your own pace.
Coach departs Guildford North Street at 10am and Painshill Park at 4.30pm
