Overview

The Queen is probably the most photographed woman in history. From state occasions to family portraits, with beaming smiles and occasional quiet tears, the images tell the story of her
70-year reign.

Guildford-based photographer Peter Merry will look at some of the photographers who have captured the Queen’s likeness; from the formal style of Cecil Beaton to the more informal approach of David Bailey – and those who capture the more day-to-day aspects of her life.

Peter will also deliver a course entitled ‘An Introduction to Portrait Photography: from Formal to Candid’
