Kim Mai Hua

A music scholar at Guildford High School, 17 year old Kim Mai is also a student at the Junior Department (JD) of the Royal College of Music in London where she studies with internationally renowned violinist Emily Sun. In her younger years, she attended the Royal Academy of Music,  Primary and Junior Department, where she was mentored by Nicholas Miller and Susan Collier. A highlight during her time at Academy was a live televised performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion under the baton of Trevor Pinnock in 2019.

A keen chamber musician, Kim Mai plays regularly with different ensembles in London and Guildford. She also performs with the Royal College of Music JD Symphony Orchestra, Guildford High School and the Guildford Youth Symphony Orchestras.

Alison Rhind

Alison Rhind

Alison Rhind is recognised as one of the leading collaborative pianists specialising in the repertoire for piano and strings. Her ability to accompany was recognised and nurtured at an early age whilst still at Chetham’s School of Music and she became increasingly in demand throughout her time at Oxford University where she read Music at Wadham College. Chetham’s invited her back immediately she had finished her degree but she completed her studies with Edith Vogel at the Guildhall School of Music before returning there.

Since 2009 Alison has worked at the Royal College of Music where a post was created for her as Coach for the String Department which she now combines with freelance recital work. Her work at the college has also lead her to being invited to Norway, Sweden and Singapore to coach students.
