‘Just to say the course was first class. I learned a lot and appreciated the research beforehand and the opportunity to discuss during the workshops. More please!’

Course Participant

This two-session workshop is for those who have attended previous workshops on how to get more out of visits to galleries, or have experience of looking at paintings. We will build on our skills of observation and interpretation, learn how to spend time looking at and seeing paintings, as well as forming and discussing our own views on them. In this practical course, we will discuss a few paintings in detail, concentrating on the elements of composition in nineteenth and twentieth century paintings.
