Course Participant
In this course we will study Italian born Amedeo Modigliani, who arrived in Paris in 1906 and would go on to produce some of the most innovative and significant artworks of the twentieth century. Influenced by Cezanne and Brancusi, Modigliani’s oeuvre included sculptures, drawings and paintings. Between 1913 and 1920, the year of his death, Modigliani would produce around 250 portraits which, although not always concerned with capturing the sitter’s likeness, nevertheless represent wonderful studies of human character.
