Profile
Chelsea has always been passionate about art, culture and heritage. She holds a BA (Hons) and MA in Art History from the University of Sussex. Prior to joining The Guildford Institute, Chelsea spent eight years working in the museums sector and has a specialist interest in women artists and designers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She has been Programme Manager since December 2020.
As the Programme Manager, Chelsea oversees the Institute’s seasonal activity programmes and helps to keep operations running smoothly. She is focussing on broadening diversifying the Institute's course offering to better represent the community, bringing together people of different ages and backgrounds. Chelsea is also responsible for room hire, and acting as key liaison for many of the Clubs and Societies who meet at the GI. She is heavily involved in the day to day operations of the building, managing both our Caretaker and Steward.
Chelsea loves the beautiful historic space that The Guildford Institute offers as a place for curious minds to meet and learn. She believes that the Institute is instrumental in creating new and exciting opportunities for both its members and the wider community. Chelsea is also passionate about improving access to the Institute and its activities to as broad an audience as possible, and wishes to pioneer new ways to achieve this.
