Helen Stiven
HR Volunteer
Profile
Helen’s working life has been in the Human Resources function, initially in the high tech sector, based in the UK and then eight years in Paris as H.R. Director for Europe for a British computer manufacturer. On returning to the UK, Helen and her family settled in the Guildford area where they have lived for 35 years, and she worked for an American/Japanese computer company. Subsequently, with a business partner, she set up a HR consulting company, offering a wide range of services to global clients.
Helen has continued her interest in France, and a major hobby is managing her French properties which she has spent many years renovating. Helen enjoys reading, supporting her husband’s charity work, and being involved with The Guildford Institute.
After a long career in the commercial field, Helen wanted to offer help on a voluntary basis to smaller organisations which could use her skills and expertise, and was attracted to The Guildford Institute by the enthusiasm and professionalism of the leadership team.
Helen’s role at The Guildford Institute involves providing support to the management in the human resources field, designing various tools to ensure compliance with ever-changing legislation and offering advice and guidance on good practice in this field.
