Guildford Arts Exhibition – Maureen Banfield-Hamlin & Christine Hopkins
22 October 2025 @ 3:30 pm - 17 November 2025 @ 5:00 pm BST
Overview
Guildford Arts and Guildford Institute have joined together to bring you another great exhibition from talented local artists:
Maureen Banfield-Hamlin
Maureen paints from imagination, drawing from memories and experiences. She finds an appropriate combination of paint, print and collage, to create the image that reflects her thoughts. The inspirations are various, and expressed in different colours and lights.
Christine Hopkins
-See main image
Christine is a painter/printmaker. The use of collage is evident in much of her work, and as well as working with acrylic inks and wax crayons, she uses her printmaking experience to add layers of texture and detail to her finished work. The contents of the recycling bin are often incorporated, although she will often hunt out relevant paper ephemera to use as background to the drawn structural framework which forms the backbone to all her work. Her love of strong linear form leads often to the addition of scaffolding or other street objects like telephone poles and wiring.
All are invited to a private view on Thursday 23rd October from 7pm – meet the artists and enjoy the artwork with drinks and nibbles.
