Whether you’re looking to host a meeting, private event, or need a space for your group, The Guildford Institute has a range of affordable rooms available to hire that can be adapted for any occasion.
Situated in the town centre of Guildford, we are a 10 minute walk from Guildford and London Road railway stations and less than 5 minutes from the bus station. There are also a number of town centre car parks nearby. Our Grade II listed building is rich with history and our rooms are no exception; each is unique and full of character.
Our friendly team and variety of flexible spaces makes us a popular venue for a range of events and functions. From being a regular meeting place for clubs and societies, to hosting exercise classes or social events, our rooms provide the perfect backdrop for your occasion.
We are a regular meeting space for many community groups, both local and regional, and are always looking to welcome more. A special discounted rate is given to all charities and community groups who hire a room with us.
Catering & Facilities
We have a range of refreshments options on offer:
• V Café, our vegetarian and vegan café, offering a regularly changing menu of homemade lunches.
• A delicious sandwich lunch provided by Kallie’s Deli.
• A function bar offering a selection drinks and light snacks at evenings and weekends.
Our building is fully accessible with a level access entrance, lift and washroom. We also have onsite baby-changing facilities.

Meeting & Function Rooms
Westwood Room
Perfect for smaller meetings and presentations, our ground-floor Westwood Room holds up to 10 people. With a large, traditional sash window looking over Ward Street, it offers excellent value for money.
Assembly Room
The Assembly Room is a bright and comfortable first-floor room, with large windows overlooking bustling North Street. With space for flexible seating arrangements, it can hold up to 70 people.
Old Billiard Room
Visitors love our spacious and elegant Old Billiard Room, complete with a feature fireplace. Located on the first-floor, it can hold up to 35 people.
Judith Whitaker Studio
On the second floor, the Judith Whitaker Studio is a popular room with visitors because it oozes character and has a vaulted ceiling which offers great acoustics. Like the Old Billiard Room, the Studio is suitable for up to 35 people.
Library
With its floor-to-ceiling bookcases, this is a unique and intimate meeting space on the ground floor of the Institute building. The Library is suitable for small meetings of up to 10 people and makes a great workspace.
