How do we move from family myths towards a more accurate picture of our ancestor’s everyday lives? Nostalgia serves as a motivator for the preservation of our family history. We will endeavour to reimagine their homes, buildings, landscapes, and other artefacts of historical significance out of nostalgia for past times. But how do we discover the ‘truth’ and set aside inaccurate, romantic images of their lives?
