Using space effectively and ergonomically, while keeping flexibility and beauty, takes skill. In the morning lecture Debby will take you through the most important considerations and options to ensure practical layouts. The afternoon workshop will guide you to experiment and evolve different layouts, to a floor plan, with a simple brief, learning to use a scale rule and templates.

    About the Speaker

    Debby Thurston

    An Honours graduate of KLC College of Interior Design and with an MSc in Construction Refurbishment Management from UCL, professional interior designer Debby has over 30 years of experience. She has a diverse portfolio of work, covering all types of projects - from hotels to listed buildings - with expertise in project management. Through her teaching, Debby aims to help everybody benefit from understanding the fundamentals of interior design and get to know the process of renovating or refurbishing. Debby has previously delivered courses for KLC College of Interior Design, as well as one-off lectures and day workshops.

    Debby is also a former competitive ballroom dancer, previously ranked 8th in the UK with her husband.
