Exploration of the outer solar system has revealed a plethora of icy-rocky bodies; small worlds in their own right. In this day school we examine their nature and what we have learned of their history. Intriguingly, some may have conditions amenable to life – could there be life out there in the cold darkness? What are the plans to find out?
