Overview
Visit this award-winning space beside the River Thames and dive into stories of the river, the town of Henley-on-Thames, and the sport of rowing. Enjoy tea, coffee and cake on arrival as you hear a short welcome and introduction from the Museum team. Then explore the galleries dedicated to the history of rowing with over 35,000 items ranging from an Anglo Saxon log boat to Olympic medals.
Discover the UK’s only dedicated gallery to the work of modern British artist, John Piper. Then immerse yourself in the Wind in the Willows experience celebrating Kenneth Grahame’s beloved story. Bring a picnic for lunch, visit the Museum’s café or head into Henley centre which is only a ten minute walk away.
Coach departs Ward Street at 10am and leaves Henley at 3.30pm.
