Profile

Amy Rice joined The Guildford Institute in January 2014. Prior to then, she gained a First Class Psychology Degree from University College London and completed a variety of voluntary roles with charities such as Children of the Mekong and Age UK. Amy joined The Institute as its Membership and Marketing Assistant and then went on to hold the Deputy Manager position, before being made Institute Manager in January 2018. Amy is responsible for the Institute’s staff, the Grade II listed building, helping to generate and implement The Institute’s Strategic Plan, providing support to the Board of Trustees and for compliance issues, such as Health & Safety. She is also the lead contact for The Institute’s tenants and the V Café. Amy really likes being able to spend time with The Institute’s members and frequent users. She feels she has built up a strong bond with many of The Institute’s ‘regulars’ over the years and she enjoys hearing the updates about everyone’s lives. Amy also appreciates that The Institute is such a special place to so many people – and enjoys working somewhere that plays such a large role in the local community.
