Profile

Born in 1947 in East London, Rob did Trust and Estate work all his working life – first for a bank and then for various firms of accountants, with a couple of years at a firm of solicitors. He retired in 2012. Rob enjoys walking and has practiced yoga on-and-off for over forty years. Having learnt some French at school, he also returns to French studies from time to time. He now practices and enjoys both at The Guildford Institute. Rob started volunteering when an appeal was made to help pack up the Library when everything was put into store prior to the building redevelopment work being done in November 2012.  He remembers well the rainy day and wet crates! Rob is a Library Volunteer and carries out the usual duties of a Library Assistant – issuing books and tidying shelves. More interestingly, he helps put copies of archive material on to the computer system. Rob enjoys helping people with archive enquiries. He finds great satisfaction in finding something useful to people. He also says working in a library with all those books is like being a kid in a sweet shop!
