Overview

Nikolaus Pevsner saw Surrey as an architectural backwater, but during the Arts and Crafts Movement he said Britain led the world and Surrey led Britain. We will study Surrey houses and buildings by Philip Webb, Baillie Scott, Harrison Townsend, Lutyens and Voysey. We’ll explore local Arts and Crafts businesses including pottery, weaving, embroidery and musical instruments.
