Talk by Susan Morris & Alfred Bradley

Edward Frederic Benson (‘Fred’,1867-1940) was a well-connected Edwardian author who had connections within Surrey society of the time. His novels, reminiscences and horror stories are both celebrated and much-admired. His series, about small town life in the 1920s, illuminates with comical detail how socially-aspirational people interact – still very recognizable today!

Learn more about Edward’s life as the third son of the Archbishop of Canterbury and be fascinated by how the very strict moral tone of Fred’s youth contributed to the outlook of the grown man. Sue and Alfred will bring his story to life with a selection of his work.
