Overview

The Paris Olympics of 1900 marked the end of a period of tumultuous change in the history of the city. This richly illustrated course will examine some of the social and political issues leading up to the successful 1900 Universal Exposition, of which the summer Olympics were a part. We will study Impressionism and the art of the fin de siècle (end of century).
