Overview

The Titius-Bode law led to the discovery of Ceres – the ‘missing planet’. This was to be the first of many minor bodies to be found in the asteroid belt. What do they tell us about the solar system? How have radar observations and space missions shaped our understanding of these objects? What is their future? Mining them for scarce materials?
