Gertrude Jekyll (1843–1932) was a horticulturist, garden designer, craftswoman, photographer, writer, and artist.
Failing eyesight in her youth forced her to abandon her dream of becoming a painter, and she found another way to express her love of colour, creating over 400 gardens across the UK, Europe, and the USA. Jekyll had an extraordinary career at a time when social and professional barriers were stacked against women. We will explore her life, philosophy, art, and legacy.
This is a repeat of the sold-out Summer 2023 course.
