Overview

A Journey to the Moon has been a long-held dream. Under President John F. Kennedy it became a cold-war imperative. This is the story of how the USA planned such a mission and set about solving the many engineering problems involved – sadly culminating in the tragic loss of Virgil Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee in the Apollo 1 fire.
